the companies must be left to decide for themselves.

8. It is also felt that the Minister of Shipping may

be interested in securing the release of these vessels as

soon as possible in order that they may again be put into

useful service under the British flag.

A similar letter is being sent to the India Office,

and a copy of this letter is being sent to the Admiralty and

the Ministry of Shipping.
